MENDEL VYSOHLID
Owner/Project Principal
Mendel oversees all operations in B.C. He has been in the construction business for more than 30 years with specialized experience in high-rise concrete tower construction, seismic upgrades and multi-family residential renovations. Mendel is actively involved in supporting BC Children’s Hospital, the MS Society, Tennis BC, and Canuck Place and enjoys cycling, squash and hockey.
JOEL VYSOHLID, BA ECON, DIP. BUS. ADMIN
Owner/Project Principal
Joel manages operations for all of B.C. For over 25 years, he has headed Silex Canada along with Mendel and Mike, managing projects for private strata buildings, commercial investments, private developers and non-profit societies. Joel’s care and attention to detail is exactly what Silex Canada is all about. He’s an avid squash player, a football fan and a hockey lover.
MIKE PETROVIC
Owner/Project Principal
Mike is Silex Canada’s number one man in Alberta. He oversees every project in the province and is directly involved in all day-to-day activities. He manages construction while working with sub-trades, suppliers and government agencies. When he’s not on the job, he enjoys travel and, unlike the rest of the team, he prefers a tennis racket to a squash racket.
ROSEMARY PRITCHARD, BBA, CPA, CGA
Chief Operating Officer
Rosemary joined Silex Canada in 2013, bringing with her two decades of experience and expertise in business development, team leadership and executive level financial and operations management. She has worked in senior roles in a number of companies including 8 years as the CFO of a national furniture retailer, which grew from a $20 million company to a $70+ million Canada-wide operation during her tenure. As the COO of Silex Canada, she oversees all company processes, implements new infrastructures that maximize the company’s efficiency, and is in charge of growing the business. When she’s not keeping everything in line at Silex Canada, she stays just as busy, kiteboarding, swimming, cycling, and travelling. And of course, she’s also a squash player.
JASON PETROVIC, BBA
Operations Manager/Project Manager, Alberta
Jason offers knowledge and experience in all specializations. He started his construction career as a general laborer while attending university, and quickly worked his way up to Operations Manager. The same dedication that got him to that position is what he brings to every project. Jason is in charge of business development, project planning, administrating contracts, coordinating, negotiations and execution for the Alberta region. He’s a leader on-site and on the soccer field where he has captained and coached for a number of teams. His experience and drive embodies everything Silex Canada stands for, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s on our team.
GRANT SUTHERLAND
Project Manager
Grant joined Silex in 2002 as Project Manager working primarily in the Building Envelope practice. He has been involved in many of our largest and most complex projects including such projects as the MacLean Park Extension and the rehabilitation of the Tumbler Ridge Recreation Centre. Grant works closely with our site staff and sub-trades to see that our projects meet the standards and expectations of our clients. Grant is also responsible for project budgeting and scheduling. His interests away from work are hockey, reading history and shooting.
